Every tyre that comes off your fleet goes somewhere. Over the past 12 months, we’ve made sure 29,358 of them went somewhere useful.
That’s 1,194 tonnes of tyre material collected from fleets across mining, construction and transport, and put back into the recycling stream instead of a landfill. The results speak for themselves:
- 1,182 tonnes of that material was diverted from landfill, a 99% recovery rate.
- That level of recycling has saved 1,385 tonnes of CO2 — the equivalent of taking 512 cars off the road for a year.
Backed by a national standard
Get A Grip Tyres & Fleet is a recognised partner of Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA), the body that sets the standard for responsible tyre recycling and end-of-life management in this country. Being a TSA partner means our recycling practices are held to that standard, not just described that way. It’s part of how we look after your fleet’s full lifecycle, not only the tyres on the truck today, but where they end up once they’ve done their job.
Why this matters for our customers
Our customers are already managing enough variables on site — uptime, tread life, fuel economy, safety.
End-of-life tyre disposal shouldn’t be one more thing our customers have to think twice about. But how those tyres are handled once they’re worn out reflects on their operation too, whether it’s a compliance requirement, a sustainability commitment to their own clients, or simply doing right by the industry.
That’s the gap responsible tyre disposal fills. Recycled tyre material doesn’t just disappear — it gets processed into things like rubber crumb for roads and civil works, recovered steel and fibre, and other reclaimed products that keep raw material out of the ground and out of landfill. A 99% recovery rate means almost nothing from your old tyres is wasted.

Nearly 30,000 tyres recycled and a 99% recovery rate isn’t a one-off number. It’s the result of consistent, accountable processes we run every day, on every job, across the fleets we support.
