Further to recent announcements, we are pleased to confirm that Black Rubber WA is on track to become part of Get A Grip Tyres at the end of August.
Bringing Black Rubber WA’s operations into Get A Grip Tyres means a bigger, more capable team supporting you across Perth, Karratha, Port Hedland and Newman. In practice, the service you count on at both operators remains the same. However, this is now backed by an expanded team, more service vehicles and more sites across Perth and the Pilbara.
Here’s what this means operators
- More people and more service vehicles. A larger team of qualified technicians and an expanded fleet of service vehicles across Perth, Karratha, Newman and Port Hedland. This means more capacity to support your sites, including three grab trucks capable of 57-inch fitment for larger fleets.
- More coverage across the Pilbara and metro Perth. Expanded operations in Karratha and Port Hedland with road train drive-through capability, and two operating sites in Perth, equipped with bulk storage to manage B-double trucks and full light vehicle servicing.
- Supply chain enhancements. An increased operation means more stock on hand and a stronger local supply chain, with our own tyre brands alongside globally recognised names from established suppliers.
- More cost-effective options over time. Access to a retread program, which brings quality casings back to near-new performance at a lower cost per kilometre. We’ll issue more information on this over the coming weeks.
Next steps for Black Rubber WA customers
Our team has been progressively reaching out to Black Rubber WA customers to ensure continuity of supply and service during this time. This includes setting up Get A Grip Tyres trading accounts prior to handover so we can continue to service your account as normal.
Here’s what you need to know in the short term:
- Same location, same service. Black Rubber WA’s Miles Road facility will remain operational for the time being. We expect there will be a transition of key services to the new Get A Grip Tyres location at 116 Kewdale Road, Welshpool but this will be progressive and we’ll keep you informed of any changes.
- Team transition. We are currently working with the Black Rubber WA team to transition them over to Get A Grip Tyres. We hope to retain as many of the existing team as possible, so we minimise disruption to your service.
- Phone number and emails will be forwarded. During the transition period, we will be forwarding existing Black Rubber WA email and phone numbers to Get A Grip Tyres. This will be phased out gradually, but you be comfortable that key communication channels will remain open.
